PTS stands for Plastic Technologie Service. Service is a priority with PTS. The company has been engaged in the development and production of customer-tailored thermoplastic elastomers.

PTS is a materials specialist in hard/soft combinations, sandwich technologies with thermoplastic elastomers (TPEs) and radiation crosslinkable polyamide materials.

The PTS Group gives top priority to quality, flexibility and service. PTS aims to complete its orders in the fastest possible time by ensuring efficient in-plant operational flow and planning.

With a long-standing experience and modern, well-equipped laboratory, PTS is able to produce special formulations at short notice. PTS is acknowledged to have the best testing technology for components made from hard/soft combinations.

The products are used in a rich variety of applications: automotive, consumer products, electronic, tools and sport & leisure.

In cooperation with Bayer MaterialScience AG, PTS Plastic Technologie Service develops and markets new thermoplastic elastomer compounds. The compounds marketed under the trade name Desmoflex® are based on the main component Desmopan® and special thermoplastic elastomers like styrene block copolymers (SBC), thermoplastic vulcanized rubbers (TPV) and/or copolyesterether elastomers (COPE).
The thermoplastic polyurethane elastomer (TPE-U) Desmopan® has good abrasion resistance, tear strength and tear propagation resistance as well as high chemical resistance. SBCs, by contrast, are softer materials with better processing behaviour. Through intelligent compounding, innovative Desmoflex® products with new property profiles combining the advantages of both materials can be developed.

The following presentation conducted at the SKZ - TPE-conference February 2008 describes properties, applications and new possibilities of the new product family.

The partnership of PTS and Bayer MaterialScience gives the opportunity to bring innovative products with new properties onto the market and in so doing expand the business considerably in the TPU and TPE market.
